About LVL
Founded in 2022, Lotus Virtual Labs (LVL) emerged during a time of rapid technological disruption and growing concern over digital overreach. LVL was built in response to the increasing centralization, censorship, and control seen across the tech landscape in the post-pandemic era.
LVL was founded by Axel Rives, a graduate of Business Information Systems and Analytics at Loyola University Chicago class of ’25.
Our roots are grounded in critical observation of how Big Tech, regulatory forces, and mass surveillance have reshaped the digital environment. The truth is: while technology has the power to empower and liberate, it is too often used to control, gatekeep, or suppress. At LVL, we see this moment in history as a call to action.
Our team continues to analyze the evolving tech landscape closely, identifying where innovation is being stifled and where new opportunities exist to restore digital freedom, user autonomy, and open access to knowledge. From this awareness, we’ve developed platforms, tools, and communities that create space for ethical, decentralized innovation.
